Today Chaffin Luhana LLP is making a donation to Operation Smile on behalf on one of our Associates, Steven Cohn, in our New York City office. The Chaffin Luhana Foundation is making the $250 donation on Steven’s behalf.
Operation Smile provides free surgery for children who are suffering from cleft lip, cleft palate, or other facial deformities. According to the website, “Since 1982, Operation Smile has provided hundreds of thousands of free surgeries for children from more than 60 countries.”
A cleft happens when the tissues of the lip or the palate do not fuse together early in pregnancy. Many children are born with this defect, but cannot afford proper care or treatment to fix it.
Steven plays in a charity soccer league, and the winning team has a charitable donation made on their behalf to the charity of their choice. His team plays on behalf of Operation Smile. Unfortunately, Steven’s team were did not win this year so no donation was made on their behalf. But his team at the office is coming through to support his charity. This is the second year in a row that Steven has nominated Operation Smile for his employee charity donation.
Our clients entrust Steven with their legal cases. He and others on the team help those injured by dangerous products get just recoveries. Those clients are often children, and it is a joy to spread some of our success on to other kids during the holiday season.
We are honored to make this donation to Operation Smile on behalf of Steven.
