Steven Cohn
Steven D. Cohn is Of Counsel at Chaffin Luhana. He is a former Manhattan Assistant District Attorney and law clerk to the Honorable William J. Martinez of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.
Prior to joining Chaffin Luhana LLP, Mr. Cohn practiced at Kirby McInerney LLP, focusing on securities and consumer fraud litigation. He handled complex litigation including vehicle design defects in the In re Ford Motor Company E-350 Van Products Liability Litigation (II). He also represented the lead plaintiff in the In re Citigroup Inc. Securities Litigation, which was a class action involving consumers defrauded regarding collateralized debt obligations. Mr. Cohn also represented various New York counties in Medicaid fraud actions in federal court.
As an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Cohn focused on complex fraud and financial crimes, and also served as the Deputy Chief of the Intellectual Property Crime Unit. As an Assistant District Attorney, he did over fifteen trials, over forty evidentiary hearings, and over one hundred Grand Jury presentations.
Mr. Cohn is admitted to the New York State Bar and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, and received his Bachelors degree from John Hopkins University and his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law.
